In one concept art for Grounded I saw that there was an early idea for a daddy long leg spider. I found the concept of them being ingame pretty interesting and it instantly got me thinking of this "cinematic" shot.
I used 3D blockout in Maya to help me find a better perspective for my drawing.
This time I also decided to showcase some layers to get an idea how I work.
Before I started the drawing I found myself being super invested in the term "daddy Long Legs" since I haven´t heard it before and spend about two hours researching these creatures and figured that there are "real spiders" (Pholcidae) and "unreal spiders" (Opiliones)
I was super fascinated.
